Contemplating these representations of the life of Christ, we offer our prayers to you, O God the Lord of all, thanking you for your mercies, and praying above all for right judgment in all things.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Remembering the Annunciation and the visitation, we join the prayers of Mary and Elizabeth, praying for all who bring tidings and who offer to serve others, remembering ourselves, and all who serve as communicators, at this time, we pray for the leaders of all lands, and particularly all who meet to try to bring peace in our troubled world, that your love may be known from shore to shore.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Remembering the humble birth of our Saviour, and all who came to see him, we pray for and with all in the church and elsewhere who work that the good news of the gospel and of your love are known, and remembering the animals who witnessed the birth, we pray for all who care for the world you have entrusted to us, that our climate and our biodiversity may be maintained, and remembering the flight into Egypt, we pray for all who are refugees in this war-torn world.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Remembering Jesus’ baptism and his ministry, we pray for all who are ill, that they may be healed, and all who are hungry that they may be fed. We remember particularly those caught in the turmoil of war and famine, and pray that food and medicine may get through to them.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Remembering Jesus' crucifixion and death, we pray for all who have suffered terrible deaths, as we pray for those who to bring peace have offered their own lives, and for all those, especially those known to and loved by us who are called to face death.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
Remembering Jesus' rising from the dead, his appearing to his disciples, and his ascension, entrusting his work to his disciples and through them to us, we pray that his risen presence may strengthen all his people – the Kingdom of God of all nationalities.
Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.
And in the company of the saints of this and every age, we offer these prayers through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
